It is no secret that the team at Bauer Graphics are HUGE fans of Clover Studio’s PS2 classic Ōkami. Published by Capcom in 2006, Ōkami combined several Japanese myths, legends and folklore to tell the story of how the land was saved from darkness by the Shinto sun goddess, named Amaterasu, who took the form of a white wolf. The game, story and art behind the game are all equally and absolutely brilliant.
When we received the call from our friends at Plugged In PR to create some elements for Capcom’s next title in the series, Ōkamiden, our smiles could almost be seen from space.
Ōkamiden centers around the children of previous characters from Ōkami and takes place nine months after the events of Ōkami. In spite of Amaterasu’s battle against the Dark Lord Yami, which would kill all the demons in Nippon, they return and it’s up to little Chibiterasu to use the Celestial Brush to harness the power of the Gods to perform miracles.
Bauer Graphics was honored to have been given the opportunity to work with Capcom, Plugged In PR and with Chibiterasu on this project. Much like the friends in Okamiden, when we work with properties like these, we realize their inner potential and accept the responsibilities and kinship that come with being the children of great heroes and gods.
